Business Planning

Clients are eligible for business planning assistance through UW‐Extension, Small Business Development Centers, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection’s Division of Agriculture Development (DATCP-DAD), and on a limited basis from DBIC specialists.

Most clients will be referred to DATCP‐DAD. Client Managers refer clients directly to sources of assistance. When referring clients, permission from the clients must be obtained prior to the referral to a business planning advisor. A number of the business planning advisors have a worksheet they ask clients to complete that outlines what information the client needs to have ready before he/she begins discussions with the advisor.
